Biography (Cereal Box) Project
Due Date: Tuesday, January 17, 2017
In this project, you will be creating a new cereal and decorating a cereal box. You will devote each side of the cereal box to one section of the project. The directions for each section follow:
Front of Box (15 pts):
- Use a piece of paper to cover the front of your cereal box
- Cereal’s Name-- create a title that describes your person.
Ex: Harriet Flakes, Conductor Graham’s
- Picture of famous figure
- Famous figure’s name
- Your name in the bottom right hand side
Side of Box (15 pts):
- Label Nutritional Facts
- Using bullets and complete sentences, explain
- Where and when they were born
- Where they lived most of their life
- When they died if they are dead
- Family, spouse, children, siblings
- Education
- What are some words that would describe them
- As many other character traits you can think of to describe your person
Side of Box (15 pts):
- Label Ingredients
- In paragraph form, write how you can relate to this person
- What do you think about them?
- Would you have done anything different?
Back of Box (15 pts):
- Summary in three paragraphs:
- 1st paragraph: how did the famous figure grow up?
- 2nd paragraph: what did the famous figure do that made him/her famous?
- 3rd paragraph: what will the famous figure be remembered by?
- Quotes by your famous figure
- Paragraphs must be organized and written clearly
- Writing needs to be in your own words
Overall (15pts):
- Neatness
- Creativity
- Lots of color- make it fun!
- Typed
Presentation (10pts):
- Be able to present your cereal box to the class
- Explain the importance of your famous figure
- Do not just read the information off of your box
